An Oktoberfest webcam shows the weather over the Theresienwiese, the rooftops of the tents and, depending on the camera, how crowded the paths look. It does not show a waiting time outside a tent or a visitor count: no camera measures those.

Which webcams cover Oktoberfest?

Wiesn.tv runs the widest selection, with at least six different locations around the Theresienwiese, each with its own angle: from the church tower view down to street level beside a tent.
What do the cameras really show, and what not?
- Weather and daylight: reliable, streamed in real time by each provider.
- How dense the paths are: visible on cameras with a street view, such as those at St Paul's Church or the Löwenturm.
- Waiting time at a given tent: not measurable, no camera shows a whole queue.
- Whether a tent still has seats: impossible to tell from outside, that is decided at the door.
- The day's visitor count: no camera counts; only the city publishes one, afterwards, in its report.
To judge when it gets busy, the official barometer is more useful than any single camera: 10am to 3pm counts as quieter, and from 6pm as the busiest.
Where do you find the camera views of the Wiesn?
muenchen.de gathers its cameras on its own Oktoberfest webcams page. Wiesn.tv has its livecam page for St Paul's Church, with links to its other locations, and PanTerra has its own Theresienwiese webcam page. All three providers stream while the festival grounds are open.
This page deliberately does not embed a picture, because an embedded player regularly fails and then shows a black box, which we cannot control from here. A click through to the original camera always shows the operator's current stream.
If the camera tells you the Wiesn looks packed right now, you can fill the afternoon with a city tour or a brewery visit instead and come back later. The activities in Munich can usually be cancelled free of charge until shortly before.

During the run-up to the season, the official muenchen.de page noted that webcam information would only be published once available, while private providers such as PanTerra often announce their cameras earlier. So there can be a time gap between the official and the private announcements.
That is not a fault of this page but a difference in the operators' publishing rhythm. If you are looking for a camera and the official page shows nothing yet, Wiesn.tv or PanTerra will usually already have a picture.
